Meet David Hershberger, Poor Boys Roofing
Our first featured contractor is David Hershberger from Poor Boys Roofing in Hillsboro, Ohio. Poor Boys Roofing is a partnership of three Amish brothers. Prior to starting the company a few years ago, they worked together installing metal roofs for nine years.
Why David Keeps Coming Back to Buckeye
One of the factors that keeps them coming back to Buckeye time and again is Buckeye’s flexibility. “If we need a special trim, they are always willing to make it. If we can draw a picture of it, they can make it,” says David. Buckeye’s good-quality, heavier metal and trim are also a drawing factor. And of course, their service.

“Their service is unbeatable,” says David. “If we need one piece of metal or trim or a bag of screws, and it is closing time, they’ll have it there as soon as possible so we can finish the job the same day.”
David says, “They try really hard to have everything out at the time we need it.”
And what is their favorite Buckeye product? The Buckeye Wave is a very popular panel among the homeowners that they serve. It looks more like a residential panel than a typical ag panel, while costing homeowners half that of standing seam. Plus it’s easy to install. “I would definitely put it on my house,” David said.
